Gent Bet is a simple app for tracking friendly wagers with your friends. Whether it's a $20 bet on the big game or just bragging rights over who's right, this app helps you keep score, settle disputes fairly, and never forget who owes whom. No money changes hands through the app - it's just a fun way to keep everyone honest.
There are two ways to create a bet:
From My Bets page: On the My Bets screen, look for the green "+ New Bet" button next to the search box (on mobile, it's a circular "+" button). Tap it to open the bet creation form. Select an opponent from your contacts dropdown, enter a description of the bet, choose whether it's a money bet or a gentleman's bet (bragging rights), set the stakes, optionally add an end date, and tap "Create Bet."
From Contacts: Go to the Contacts tab, find the contact you want to bet with, and tap on their name. This opens a detail view with a "Create Bet" option that will pre-select that contact as your opponent.
Go to the Contacts tab and tap the + button. Enter your contact's email address and a nickname to identify them.
Open an active bet and tap either "I Won" or "I Lost." Once both parties submit their claims, the bet will be resolved automatically if the claims match.
If both parties claim the same outcome, the bet will be marked as "Disputed." You'll need to discuss with your opponent and reset your claims.
After a bet is resolved, the loser can mark the bet as "Paid" and the winner can confirm receipt. This updates your balance in the app.
